UI Designer

Philadelphia, PA, USA
August 19, 2019

We are looking for an amazing user interface designer to join our growing team! You'll be managing existing client websites; designing a custom e-commerce interface, features, and templates for our website platform; writing functional specs for each project; and managing the execution of projects with our development team.

This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills. Culture is important to us - we’re looking for candidates who will go the extra mile, respect each other and clients, and have a collaboration mindset. You should also love learning about your field and be implementing what you learn.

Our clients are diverse – so you need to be able to think from their customer's viewpoint to create strategic solutions in different verticals ranging from fine dining to manufacturing.

  • Have an innate ability to connect with clients, communicate, and build a relationship that will allow them to talk openly about issues they are facing with their website
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Present designs to client and work with them to refine; willingly accepting feedback and pushing back as needed
  • Ability to write clear specs for website builds and manage a development team from PSD to testing
  • Design websites/pages to comply with best marketing/SEO & design practices
  • Create compelling graphics for our client’s social media accounts and websites
  • Experience designing for e-commerce
  • Experience in WordPress and Squarespace
  • Love multi-tasking and delivering on tight deadlines

Your Day to Day:

  • Design all UI/UX websites, including all assets (icons, graphics, responsive mockups, etc.)
  • Design the wireframes, flowcharts, prototypes, and structural guidelines for your projects
  • Maintain websites daily, including WordPress and Squarespace sites
  • Check that all plugins for WordPress are up-to-date
  • Check that all tools, designs, and features for custom sites are working accurately
  • Complete daily tasks set by clients via email and assign to the development team when necessary

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience
  • 3-5 years of experience designing user interfaces and managing execution
  • You need to work well without oversight taking responsibility for your accounts
  • Current experience in all things SEO
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
  • Strong understanding of layout and print design
  • Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts
  • Dedication to the company, the team and the clients we serve
